About STJ Projects Ltd.
Working from our offices and workshops based between Scunthorpe and the Humber, we have gained excellent skills and knowledge since first trading in 1974. STJ Projects Ltd are a family owned and operated business with a small team of key employees ensuring we are large enough to deliver and small enough to care, known to our friends as ‘STJ’. We operate in both the manufacturing and installation of joinery services.
STJ are experienced in site joinery installation works having worked with many principle contractors (both large and small) and private clients too. Works have seen us install into brand new builds but also into existing buildings undergoing refurbishment works. Our team of joiners are experienced in dealing with many aspects that may arise from site environments and we work hard and with the client to ensure we deliver a successful and proud completed project.
A large proportion of installation works is by way of Fire Doorset Installation. For a number of years now we have been part of the BM Trada Q-Mark scheme for both fire door installation and maintenance. This also allows us to carry out extensive fire door surveys to ensure your fire doors are fully compliant for peace of mind knowing they will perform in the event of a fire.
We have worked within many sectors including Healthcare, Education, Retail, Commercial, Industrial and private. Some of which have been within areas of local restrictions and guidelines.
Healthcare is a growing sector for STJ, we have worked closely with a number of NHS Trusts and private clients to deliver some excellent projects across the country in both General Healthcare and Mental Healthcare. Our teams are experienced with complex requirements that are often seen in these environments and we are more than used to the security and performance required from both our team of joiners and the items they are installing.
We are able to offer our services nationally having worked in Great Yarmouth, Nottingham, Sheffield, Hull, Edinburgh to name but a few.
We have worked with numerous doorset manufacturers over many years and have excellent working relationships having worked on many projects. STJ are now pleased to anounce that we manufacture doorsets in house ourselves making full use of our workshops. We can offer a vast range of doorsets depending on client requirements and specification and these can be fully finished (Final paint layer or Lacquered) through our very own in house spray shop.
Doorsets are a complex item in relation to their design and functions, however, we will do all we can to ensure we quickly fully understand your project needs and offer forward suitable elements within the design.
Anti-Barricade, Lockbacks, Steel Lined, Anti-Ligature, are all elements we are used to working with when the need is present.
There is a range of finishes available including; Painted, Lacquered Veneer, Laminate and Acrovyn Wrapped. Each of these offering a further choice of colours and textures etc.
We are currently working through the application process of BM Trada Q-Mark scheme for the manufacture of fire doorsets.
Timber & Joinery
We pride ourselves on being a family run company with high levels of safety and workmanship. At STJ we try our best to offer a user friendly service with a flexible outlook towards time scales to meet client needs and the completion of every project we become involved in completed on time.
At our rural base and workshops we have all the tools and equipment we feel necessary to enable us to produce good quality joinery items from the day to day MDF pipe encasements to bespoke internal 1 & 2 hour fire screens, bespoke reception desks or even oak wall panelling. All of our joinery items are, wherever possible, made away from site in our workshops as we feel this is a better way to work as regards greater levels of safety, tooling and a great way to reduce un-wanted site waste, noise and dust.
We have the means of storing and moving a range of site equipment for contractors we work for, this has time and time again given large benefits of cutting the onsite costs of contractors meaning they have a greater chance of meeting their green targets by re-using some equipment that may well have been destroyed at the end of a previous contract. We have indoor dry storage facilities and outdoor storage yards, both are very useful and secure when beginning any site establishment.
We directly employ our Site Operatives & Joiners wherever possible and we currently have a total workforce including office staff of c20 personnel. When needed we are happy to use sub contract joiners but only when we are happy that they fit our company ideals and standards and have been approved to join our approved contractor’s scheme. If we use sub contract joiners or site operatives we aim to get this extra workforce from around the site localities to assist the local environment. Our aim is to assist new joiners wherever possible and we currently have 2 apprentices within our team along with school leavers within the offices on a part time basis to allow them to study specific courses at college that do not fall under an apprenticeship.
Health & Safety is very important to our company, our health and safety programs are all up to date with method statements and risk assessments specific to individual sites. With this you are ensured our health and safety regarding your site is as up to date as possible and matches the needs exactly. We also employ an independent representative to oversee our health and safety practices.
